not much more to say about it, it was miserable. nice spin though
18km’s into a head wind with some good hills in it. Made for a great workout, but tiered legs!
Met up with one of the first triathletes I ever met for a small cycle! Got dark quickly so it turned out to be shorter than we had hoped!
Ride 1: Set out to do a 62km, 3 hour cycle. It was foggy leaving home and just got worse as I went on, decided to turn home for safetys sake.
Went for a run to make up though (see next post). Sitting down for a cuppa tae after that mom was wondering how she’d feel about cycling (her legs have been paining her on the cross trainer) so I told her I’d keep her company if she wanted to go for a cycle to see how she felt. (thats ride 2) We went and did some shopping and cycled back home.
Cup of tae later she had convinced dad that he needed to do some exercise, so ride 3. There were a few times I even had to pedal with him, he’s not afraid of a bit of pace.
Only realized it afterwards. I thought it was a bad spin, but it improved when the gps missed a full 5k.
Out with the swimming parents again today. Only 4 of us braved the elements, but it was a lovely spin!
So there’s this road that I’ve been avoiding since I started cycling. It’s got a mountain (long hill) on it. And I’ve struggled with short uphill stints. But I was feeling brave today and said I’d give it a go. Made the climb and never let the speed drop below 15km/h (which is a massive achievement for me, as on less steep and shorter hills I’ve often dropped below 10 hm/h)
Just out for a handy spin this evening
Quite a few of the kids I coach parent’s cycle. They had a training session this morning that another coach always takes (no I didn’t skip training to go cycling) so I suggested that while the kid’s were training we would go for a spin.
It was a handy paced spin, mainly because I think nobody wanted to be an arse. There were 5 of us this week, but more wanted to join us next week.
So went out for a 40ish k spin, 9.2km’s in hit a pothole (country road, in forest and sunglasses on). puncture. that’s ok, I have everything I need. Only the new tyres are much stronger than the old ones, and the poor tyre lever isn’t up to the job. So I had to be collected. How sad is that?
